No words today; simply images of the autumn of 2010. All images were taken while the trees still held on to their delicate leaves. The snow is here now and winter is nigh.
From Forever and Ever, Amen by George Miksch Sutton in Audobon: “… By the wind I shall be scattered — up and down the land,”
Lovely leaves in color and B&W. I especially like the bottom image of the grass. It’s very beautiful.
I like these individual sprigs of branches with the golden leaves. Nice black and white versions too. The simplicity of a single stalk adds to the impact in my view. We had wind and rain yesterday, but it seems the leaves stayed on the trees for the most past.
All very pretty, Diane. This time I’m going with the greyscales which aren’t the first one you posted. (out of character for me not to have chosen your first one. BTW, I realize I’m not here to pick my favorite, but when you put up more than one pic at a time I just can’t seem to help it. Forgive my self-indulgence:-)
Snow – ack! We have warnings of it for tomorrow….yeck. I am just not ready in any way. Can’t we will it away for a while longer?? 🙂
It’s end of autumn here to we have had snow today again but it melted away rather quickly. Beautiful images Diane.
I am continually forgetting how far north you live..and thus – always surprised to hear that you’ve already got snow!! Beautiful autumn images. Your season is so short..and must be savored!!!
