Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved this story.
I’ve read a few of Kent Haruf’s novels and have never been disappointed. This was his last novel and though it’s a short one, the writing and the message I gleaned will remain with me for a long time, maybe forever.
I particularly recommend this to any senior or any adult living alone. Though I would absolutely not limit my suggestion only to that group of people. The novel is an inspiring story that will make you think. I wish I had what Louis and Addie had.
Gosh I enjoyed this so much. I think this is the book I’ll be recommending next year for our book club — I can hardly wait to re-read it.
I hope you’ve all enjoyed a most lovely Christmas season, whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or not. It’s been a particularly busy month for me leading up to Christmas and I do plan to get back on track with Monday posts. May you enter the New Year filled with hope, peace in your heart, and an abundance of health and wellness.
That cool driftwood horse reminded me of the art work of Dan Klennert. https://steveinjapan.aminus3.com/image/2011-04-08.html
