A wee sample of a few things that cause my heart to flutter: I like the smell of coffee percolating, the way tulips nod their heads when brought inside, handwritten notes and letters, walking barefoot in the sand, summer sunsets, piano played like a flowing river, people who laugh like they mean it, and conversations with unexpected truths.
“The secret of surviving housework is simply to do it. Pull the plug on the part of your brain that always wants to negotiate everything. You need to change a diaper, rinse a bottle, clean a spill, fluff a pillow? Consider it done. It’s a no-brainer. End of conversation. End of story.” — Veronique Vienne
Ancora imparo (I am still learning). Revealed are Wednesday’s student notes and marks. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” I am forging onward, determined to someday play the piano so it doesn’t sound like a robot at the keyboard and instead, perhaps may utter like a burbling brook.
I wish for you this this coming week to think of the simple things that cause your heart to flutter.
i absolutely love this collection of images

What a lovely post….some of my favorite things, too. One of the best gifts we ever gave our son was the gift of music…which he has passed to all 5 of his children. I think I appreciate it all the more because it’s a gift I don’t have. Love the photographs…always look forward to your gift with them, too!
Those tulips are beautiful!
