Perhaps it’s my age. Perhaps it’s the rebel in me. Or is it something else entirely?
In recent years I find there is no need for making resolutions. There was a time when I followed the crowd and would make a resolution or two. Since I don’t find it’s necessary anymore to make resolutions, I am approaching the new year with some reflection.
“If you reach for the stars, you just might land on a decently sized hill.”
— Stuart Hill, The Cry of the Icemark
Following the lead of my new online piano teacher, I made a list of things I plan to continue doing in 2020. Just as important — or even moreso — I’m still compiling a list of accomplishments from 2019 to celebrate. Making goals is still something I do though I find goals to be quite different from resolutions. So before I fully set my goals for 2020, I feel it’s important to reflect upon and celebrate all that I’ve accomplished in the past year.
“Always believe in yourself and always stretch yourself beyond your limits. Your life is worth a lot more than you think because you are capable of accomplishing more than you know. You have more potential than you think, but you will never know your full potential unless you keep challenging yourself and pushing beyond your own self imposed limits.” – Roy T. Bennett from The Light in the Heart
What were your 2019 accomplishments? Big or small, all victories deserve celebrating.
wow, what an unusual and beautiful photograph of the rainbow and so fitting for the quote.
