“Try it! The next time you want to catch up with a friend, surprise them by sending them your thoughts on paper!” An excellent article especially if you’d like some ideas on getting started writing a letter. Writing a letter is like giving a handmade gift and receiving a letter is one of the most memorable gifts to receive.
As anyone who pops by here knows, I am a fervent advocate for writing letters. And it honestly doesn’t matter if you have to type the letter and then put it in the mail — it’s still something written from your heart. But oh, the care and warmth it exudes when you slow down long enough to write a letter by hand. And letters don’t need to be long. In fact, sending a postcard just-because is equally as meaningful.
In this digital age the personal touch of a handwritten letter is not only meaningful but treasured by the recipient. It’s difficult to express the depth of my feelings when a letter arrives in our mailbox. I know and understand the sender has chosen to take time to jot down and send me the breathings of their heart.
“Life is bearable when you have someone to write, and someone who writes you back. Even if it’s just one person.”

When was the last time you received a letter in the mail? The secret to receiving them is simply to write and send them to those you hope will reciprocate. Wishing you a week ahead filled with the beauty of the simple things in life.
the stationary you’ve photographed reminds me of the kind one of my grandmothers used.
so beautiful and as always, good thoughts
I have always preferred writing letters over sending electronic messages. Electronic messages can be so short, curt and many times misconstrued. I love your layout with the stationery and beautiful handwriting. There are many hand-written notes that I have kept from my mother. Many are just short “jots” that she has left in our three seasons room for us to find when we come home. She only lives down the street.
