Keeping it real with some of my ponderings first, followed by a wee list of the good-week-stuff right after the not-as-good.
Perhaps you’ve noticed my most recent posts, with the exception of the one about the totem, have been shy on content. I must have about seven posts sitting in my Draft folder that I can’t bring myself to post. Too wordy, some are verging on a rant, and others just don’t feel right. So there they sit until I likely will end up deleting them. You see, even though I still enjoy my little space here on the web, I’m finding that a shift here or there will be necessary. I’ve even considered putting out a newsletter of sorts (a monthly e-letter is really what it would amount to). Plus, I have a real problem going forward in that I may not be able to afford my annual web hosting fees. I’ve just renewed them but gosh it’s a stretch. Just like this blogger who, like me, has also been thinking of all the different possibilities at her own crossroads.
Now here are a few of the good things from the past week:
- I finally received a haircut that pleases me.
- It always lights me up when my son phones or texts me, especially when things are going well. He’s delighted to be working out of town but staying in a decent hotel with good meals instead of bunked in a camp eating camp food. What a difference an employer makes.
- Some friends are back in town and invited us over for a fun evening and utterly delicious meal. Heidi (our dog) was also invited.
- Since Saturday was Indie Book Store Day I dropped in to Mulberry Bush Book Store in Qualicum Beach to buy a couple books. They were celebrating by offering discounts to everyone all day plus a draw for a basket of books. I got 20% off my purchases. Both Tom and Barb, who have run the cozy store since 1975, were there to greet and treat everyone who came in. I love supporting local businesses.
- After enjoying a nice breakfast in Ladysmith Sunday morning, we continued driving to Chemainus where my brother led us on an interesting walking tour. Then I smiled all the way home.
- Oh, and did you know that I love analog. You know, clocks, cameras, typewriters, record players, even cars.
Learn from yesterday. Appreciate today. Be hopeful for tomorrow.

once again, it appears you have a lovely village/town in which to live and walk.
(i don’t know how much you’re paying for hosting, but i can quote you a hosting fee)
Oh dear! I hear you on the hike in fees…
I’m still on the WordPress freebie platform and find it more and more annoying. And Flickr have raised fees and introduced some pretty stiuff regulations on “sensitive” content.Every time I turn around something else has been raised. Except pensions, apparently!
But, hey! I’ll stagger along til i drop. 😉
