It was late. Mostly dark outside. The dog asleep at my feet. So quiet. Something — I don’t know what — made me get up and walk into the living room. Although I hadn’t opened the fallboard of the piano in weeks, I strode straight over and lifted it. Turned the piano light on, sat down, and flipped through the book of music.
Something drew me back to the piano. It’s not lost on me that I sat down and decided to learn to play, Lean on Me.
Excerpt of lyrics by Bill Withers:
“… Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there’s always tomorrow
Lean on me
When you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on…
For it won’t be long
Till I’m gonna need somebody [something.piano] to lean on …”
[square brackets is my addition] 🙂
Very moody compositions with great ambience. Both are splendid shots, where the close-up of the music is almost legible and helps tell a story.
absolutely stunning. i prefer the top one. the drama makes for such a stately image.
